First PKS Fishing Tournament % m:- r M warn, - Vi. 4^ -W^H ■i^i The weather on October 15 was perfect for fishing, and 33 competitors did just that in the first ever Pine Knoll Shores Fishing Tournament; (1) Spectators came to celebrate the winners at the weigh-in at McNeill Park; (2) Jayne Keifer with the winning red drum; (3) Maureen Young holding a speckled trout (though she won in the blue fish category, shown in photo #4) and Don Hesselman with the winning gray trout; (5) Tony Battista with the winning speckled trout; (6) Howard Boudreau shows off the winning trophy, and his winning sea mullet is shown in photo #7; and (8) the leaderboard showing the weights of all winners. No fish were caught in the flounder or sheepshead categories. Photo #9 shows Sid Bragg (left) and Tom Kowalski with a couple of nice false albacore. Trees are picked up and placed along the beach to help preserve our dunes. Just drop them off, and we’ll do the rest.
