October 2017 Town Presents K4TW Proceeds Volunteers gathered at town hall on Wednesday, September 13, at the Pine Knoll Shores Board of Commissioners meeting to present a check to Hope For The Warriors for $71,800, representing the proceeds from the recent Kayak for the Warriors events. This was possible only through the fantastic volunteer spirit and efforts of all those involved. Thanks to all. —Photo by Dan Law Setting a Fine Example Seven-year-old Emma Lewis, daughter of Pine Knoll Shores residents Sharon and Craig Lewis, was touched by the victims of Hurricane Harvey and wanted to do her part to help. Her message was simple and effective: “Let s Help Texas.” The sign on her lemonade stand inspired neighborhood friends and family to come together and support the cause. Emma raised $130, which was donated to the American Red Cross. She had a great day and learned the value of helping others. Emma and her family thank everyone who helped to make her lemonade fundraiser a success—and we thank Emma for her fine example of demonstrating that we can all do something to make a difference.—Pftoto by Dan Law -/Tv. •••: ■ i'. >•' i’r '5 > ■ \ ^ j A Standard Pre-Sort Permit #35 h, NC 28512
