Pine Knoll Shores Strategic Plan By Kevin Reed, Pine Knoll Shores Town Planner The Pine Knoll Shores Board of Commissioners adopted the towns first Strategic Plan on February 13,2014. The plan was subsequently amended in February 2016 and again in August 2017. Focus groups have been conducted annually to assist the Strategic Planning Committee in making sure the plans recommendations and priorities are in line with the community’s priorities. The plan covers seven strategic areas for the town, and in each of the strategic areas there are goals, which are broad statements of an ideal condition; objectives, which are measurable mileposts that tell us if we are achieving our goals; and action items, which are tasks that will help to achieve the goals. The full plan document is located on the towns website (townof- pks.com) under the “Resources” menu and at townofpks.com/strategic-plan. Below is a quick summary of the plans focus areas, including the goals and objectives for each of the seven areas.
