Instructions
This card is issued by the Personnel Department upon application by the em
ployee. It entitles the employee to buy Marshall Field products in limited quan
tities when available at the employee’s store during the current year. The card
must be presented for punching at times of purchase. This card is not transferable
and any items bought must be for the employee’s personal use. Any misuse of
the card will cancel its buying privileges. If you lose this card, notify the Personnel
Department at once.

To Open June 3rd
Curtis Lea Is Named
Manager of New Establishment
The Employees’ Store will open
Monday morning, June 3, in the south
ern end of Nantucket building adjoin
ing the entrance to the Vocational
School. This store will serve all mills
and offices. Curtis Lea, Leaksville-Spray
war veteran who was with Chandler
Drug Company for several years, has
been appointed store manager.
The store is being established to make
the products of the Manufacturing Di
vision available to all employees and all
of our leading products with the excep
tion of large rugs, rayon piece goods
and lace curtains will be carried in
stock. The last two items will be added
at a later date.
Store hours will be from 9:15 , a. m.
to 5:30 p. m. on Mondays through Fri
days and from 9:15 a. m. to 1:00 p. m.
on Saturdays.
Identification cards, which are repro
duced on this page, will be issued upon
application to the Personnel Depart
ment by any active employee or any
prior employee retired under our pen-
. sion plan. Notices will be posted on
mill bulletin boards stating the Per
sonnel Department schedule for issuing
the cards.
Each employee will be permitted to
buy the following quantities of mer
chandise during 1946 and each year
thereafter until further notice:

The merchandise will be sold at
wholesale pi’ices to which a small
amount will be added to cover the
store’s operating expenses. If the
amount added exceeds the actual ex
pense, the surplus will be donated to
some organization benefiting employees.
A 3% sales tax will be added to all
purchases where delivery is to be made
within the State of North Carolina.

Tennis League
Is Organized
Organization of the Virginia-Carolina
Tennis League was completed at a
meeting held at Central Y. M. C. A.
Monday night, May 20. The opening
match will be June 8 and the closing
date is August 24. The winner of the
first half plays the second half winner
for the league championship and a large
trophy is to be presented to the winner
and runner-up.
Attending the meeting were: Harry
Daughtry and Harry Pressley, Martins
ville, representing the DuPont team;
Tommie Barton, Schoolfield, represent
ing the Dan River Mills team; T. B.
Hamrick, Draper, representing the Dra
per Y. M. C. A. team; Bill Richardson,
Leaksville, representing the Leaksville-
Spray Y. M. C. A. teams.
All the games will be played on Sat
urday afternoons. One June 8 at 2 p. m.
Leaksville-Spray will play Draper on
the Spray park courts, and DuPont will
play Dan River on the courts at School-
field.
