This one is occu- >oied by S. M. Maynard and family and is situated in the Newtown section of Draper. Doc Solves Mystery- Boxes Contain X-Ray Dr. A. W. Reeser, of the Medical De partment, has clarified the mystery of all those odd-looking boxes in the Nan tucket corridor. They contain X-iay equipment which will be set up in the Medical Department to X-ray the chests of new employees and for use in con nection with industrial accidents. The X-ray machine was previously a part of our Medical Department equip ment but was loaned to the Retail Store during the war and has now been re turned. than ever before. And, in view of the definite increase in prop erty values since 1941, there isn’t a mill employee from Spray to Fieldale who isn’t pleased with the decision he made in 1941 to buy his home from Marshall Field and Company.” Sale Of Company Houses Written Up In Textile Bulletin The Manufacturing Division is receiv ing wide publicity at present because of a write-up in the “Textiie Bulletin for August 15, concerning the sale of Company houses to Marshall Field em ployees. The magazine carries photo- I graphs of several of the homes that were sold, illustrating the improvements that were made when the employees became home-owners. The article concludes with the follow ing: “The employees are better citizens Three Employees To Attend Safety Conference; Williams On Program H. E. Williams, safety engineer for the Manufacturing Division, is on the program for the 16th annual statewide Industrial Safety Conference to be held H. E. Williams I at the Robert E. Lee Hotel in Winston- Salem, September 12-14. Sixteen other persons from the organization will at tend the sessions. Those to attend are: W. B. Weaver; Roy Dunton, safety inspector; Clara Gravely and Irene Meeks, Karastan, Sam Cox and Troy Flinchum, Woolen; I. H. Sutliff, Rayon; William Riddle and George Minter, Sheeting; Daley Gam- bill and Rupert Riley, Blanket; Roy Thompson and John McCollum, Bleach- ery and Finishing; Clarence Manley, Central Warehouse; William Joyce, Bed spread; and Lemma Lewis, Tufted Bed spread. Fair Trade Squires Succeeds Hodges As Foreman Of Sbeeting Weave Company officials have announced the following appointments and promotions: George Dickinson, head of the Sched uling Department for the Sheeting Mill before his entry into military service, has entered new work in the Comptroll er’s Department. Irving Hodges, form erly foreman of the Sheeting Weave De partment, has been selected to fill the Scheduling position. Cecil J. Squires, formerly second shift Sheeting Weave foreman, has been moved up to succeed Hodges.
