Grady Cole On Air With Program About Textile Communities Seventeen Enroll In Speaking Class Absenteeism Announcement has been made by radio station WBT, Charlotte, that a new and interesting program, “Our Com munity,'’ wen*- on the air. Sunday morn ing, October 27,-irom 8:30 to 9:00, East ern Standard Time. “Our Community” will feature the outstanding radio personality, Crady Cole, who has a wide listener audience throughout many states. Each Sunday morning he wiii tell his extraordinary stories of Southern personalities and people, and what has happened to them while at work and at play. Long a fav orite with thousands of Southern fam ilies, Crady Cole’s story-telling and homely philosophy are expected to bring new inspiration to the observance of tlie Sabbath. The course in effective speaking, con ducted by Training Director L. E. Rich ards for Union committeemen of the Blanket and Sheeting mills is under way at the Union hall at Draper. There will be 10 sessions on successive Tuesday evenings. Those taking the course are Clifton Mills, Jesse Taylor, Lonnie Fain, Clif ford McDaniel, Ernest Curry, Paul Har vey, W. P. Webster, Tate Sparks, Bill Paige, Frank Flutson, R. L. Kirkman, John Searcy, Kirby Williams, William Parrish, Ramon Robertson, Jesse Wilson, and Will Cibson.
