Rockingham County Library Gives Doll Party For Children Of Community wi Walter Gardner, photographer tor the Fieldcrest Mill Whistle, snapped this shot of an unusual scene on Tuesday following Christmas when the Rockingham County Library gave a doll party for the children of the community. Dolls we.e guests of honor and were displayed, admired, and introduced to one another. Miss Marianne Martin, librarian, con ducted the program which featured stories about famous dolls and discussions of books about dolls. Miss Martin was assisted by Miss Sunshine Murphy. The library had arranged an exhibit of dolls from various countries. Games were played and music from the library’s new record player was enjoyed. In lower picture, left to right, are Bar bara Fisher, daughter of Mrs. L. J. Fish er, Finishing Mill; Maiy Anne Gatewood, daughter of W. D. Gatewood, Karastan, Ludene Williams, daughter of Claude M. Williams, Embroidered Bedspread; and Mary Anne Collins, daughter of Andrew Collins, Bedspread Mill. That is where good labor relations must begin.” “Foreman’s Handbook” edited by Carl Heyel. Contains chapters on Plan ning and Scheduling; Quality Control and Waste Reduction; Industrial Fatig ue; Merit Rating of Employees; etc. “How To Supervise People” by Al fred M. Cooper. According to Carl Heyel, who reviewed the book for the Magazine Management Review, this volume is a “must” for upper execu tives, foremen, supervisors, and ambi tious employees. “Foremanship Fundamentals” by A. L. Kress. “In this book will be found an able and constructive analysis of the functions of the foremen and the variety of problems he may encounter in dis charging his responsibilities, with a clear outline of appropriate methods for dealing with them,” says C.
