It will be at the Leaksville armory i'rom 11 a. m. Until 5 p. m. Friday, September 21. When the Bloodmobile came here in February 201 pints of blood were given for the Armed Forces. A smaller num ber of donors participated on the Blood- ftiobile’s second visit in May. The quota tor the third visit next Friday is 200 pints. D. L. Craddock, Red Cross blood program chairman, said it would be Necessary to schedule all donors so that as many as possible can be accomodat ed. Campaign chairmen at each Y.M.C.A. unit and the Girls Club are to be ap pointed this week for the annual Tri- City Y.M.C.A. membership drive to be ccnducted September 24-29. Names of captains and workers likewise will be announced following meetings early this week. Under the same plan that proved suc cessful last year the drive will be car ried On by each unit under direction of the president of the local “Y.” Cash prizes for the winning solicitors and a cup to the unit receiving the highest percentage increase in membership are to be awarded. Norman, president, Leaksville “Y.” First Aid Course Will Open Monday At “Y” Fieldcrest Mills is sponsoring a First Aid Class which opens Monday, Septem ber 17, and continues for two weeks. The course is to be taught by O. Franklin Griffiths of the N. C. Industrial Com mission. The class will meet at Central Y.M.C.A. for two hours each day Mon day through Friday. The first class will meet each evening from seven until nine o’clock. Plans are to start a morning class if there is a sufficient number of persons interested in enrolling. The official Red Cross first aid course with a Civil Defense supplement will be taught. Red Cross first aid training certificates will be awarded all persons who successfully complete the course. Employees who desire to enroll should contact their department supervisor. Others may enroll by telephoning H. E. Williams, Safety Director, Tel. 709. Girls Club To Hold “Open House” Event; Entertainment Planned The public is invited to visit the Girls’ Club in Spray during “open house” frcm 7 p. m. to 10 p. m. Thursday, Sep tember 27. Purpose of the event is to acquaint Tri-City citizens with the facilities and program at the Girls’ Club. Men and women are invited. The Tri-City Band will play a con cert and there will be refreshments and door prizes. Entertainment is being ar ranged by Mrs. Jesse DeHart, Jr., Mrs. R. A. Butler, and Dwight Livingstone. Miss Isabelle Buckley, director of the Girls’ Club, said: “We hope that, in addition to our members and friends, people who have never visited the club will come to see us during the open house.”
