Get the Hang of It!
You’ll stretch a dollar if you’ll hang
your clothes properly so they don’t
stretch out of shape. Clothes pins, clip
ped on carelessly, can leave “clutch-
marks.” Clothes not hung properly can
get that sagged-out look.
Here are some do’s and don’ts for
laundry-hanging. Men’s shirts should
be hung by folding the bottom three
or four inches of the tail over the line
and pinned at each end. Fold sheets
hem to hem and turn about four inches
over the line. Use one clothes pin at
each end and two in the middle to avoid
sagging.
Make sure the sheet hangs straight.
Fold handkerchiefs over the line, not by
their corners. Never hang any garment
by the shoulders. Always hang slacks
or any type of trousers by the legs after
washing. The wet weight of the garment
will take almost all the wrinkles out.
