FIELDALE NEWS By Lee Hundley Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ferguson, Newport News, Va., were week-end guests of their parents and attended the Arnold- Few wedding at the Baptist church. Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Nester had as their guests for several days, Mr. and Mrs. Morton Jarrett from Cartersville, Ga. Mr. and Mrs. Harley Robinson spent Saturday in Mt. Airy. Mr. and Mrs. Dexter Hall and Danny, Mrs. Clay Walker and Nancy, Mrs. Maude Chaney and Peggy Crawford were among those who visited the Dan ville City auditorium to hear several quartets from North Carolina Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. H. F. Arledge, also Mr. and Mrs. Ray Arledge spent the week end in Winston-Salem with relatives. We extend our deepest sympathy to Andrew Dalton in the death of his sis ter, Mrs. Bill Wood. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Myers were the week-end guests of Mrs. Myers’ parents in Winston-Salem. Mr. Myers is athletic director at Fieldale Y.M.C.A. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Minter and daugh ter, Betty, visited relatives in Greens boro during the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Vance Stovall were week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Mitchell and family in Verona. Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Via had as guests over the week-end, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Moore of Wytheville. Mrs. Bernard Davis visited her grand mother, Mrs. Anna Weyels, of Lockville, Tenn., during the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. J. R. Adkins visited Mr. and Mrs. Max Lampkins in Rocky Mount over the week-end. Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Newman, of Dav idson, N. C., had as guests recently, Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Maxey and son, Danny. Mrs. Mary Vernon is an operative pa tient in Martinsville General hospital. Mr. and Mrs. O. T. Wiggington re ceived word from their son, Cpl. Clyde B. Wiggington, that he has finished eight weeks of schooling at N. C. O. School in Gessen, Germany. Mrs. Ray Vaughn and daughters, Ann and Nancy Ray, of Newport News, spent the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Austin and Miss Louise Austin. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Hu bert Quinn, who have announced the birth of a son. Mr. Quinn is an employee of the Hosiery Mill, Knitting Dept. Mrs. Quinn was formerly employed at the mill. -A Red Cross Service Groups members last year gave 8,000,000 volunteer hours in services to veterans and to service men and their families at home and overseas. ★ Last year 2,586,000 persons donated blood through the Red Cross for civilian and military use. Wed dle, serving with the Army in Trieste, was e m p 1 o y ed in the Sheeting Mill before entering service in May 1952. Pvt. Wed dle received his basic training at Camp Breckinridge, Ky.
