Text of the notice, signed by James L. Palmer, president of Marshall Field & Company, is printed below: Marshall Field & Company will announce publicly tomorrow the sale of the Company’s Fieldcrest Mills Division to a new corporation to be known as Fieldcrest Mills, Inc. The financial sponsors of the new corporation are Mr. John P. Maguire and Mr. E. Stanley Klein of the J. P. Maguire Company, textile factors in New York, as well as other Eastern financial interests. The business will continue to operate without any changes whatever in important poli cies. The management of the new corporation will consist of Mr. Mil ton C. Mumford as president, Mr. Harold W. Whitcomb as vice-presi dent in charge of operations, and Mr. James C. Walsh as secretary and treasurer. Mr. E. W. Medbery will continue as production manager. The new corporation will continue the pension plan on its present basis, and Marshall Field & Company is transferring to a separate trust fund the money previously paid in by Fields for the past service liability to Fieldcrest Mills’ employees. The new corporation assumes all trademarks, brandnames, et cetera, of Fieldcrest Mills and plans to oper ate the business without substantial changes of any nature.
