Hundreds Enjoy Council Christmas Programs Approximately 1500 persons attended the special Christmas program for the members of the CaroUna Cooperative Council, the Junior Carolina Council, their wives, husbands and guests in the Leaksville-Spray junior high school auditorium, December 19. A Christmas play, “Why the Chimes Rang”, present ed in afternoon and evening perform ances, viras much enjoyed. Special entertainment and prizes for children featured the afternoon pro gram. Each child was given a lollipop as he or she entered the door, and 15 other prizes were awarded in a stunt Councils Will Hear Management Reports Harold W- Whitcomb, president of Fieldcrest Mills, and E. W. Medbery, production manager, will present re ports on mill operations at the meeting oi the Carolina Cooperative Council and Junior Carolina Council at Con solidated Central Y.M.C.A. at 7:30 o’clock Thursday evening, January 21. The Company officials will review mill operations in 1953 and discuss the outlook for the business in the coming year. A special feature of the Council pro gram will be honorary awards to Wil liam A. Blackburn, a charter member, in recognition of his completion of 50 years of continuous service with the Company on January 1. using balloons lettered to spell “Field crest Mills”. The grand prize, a live parakeet, was won by Barbara Lee, eight years old. J. B. Lamar, council president, in troduced both afternoon and evening programs. Harold W. Whitcomb, presi dent and E. W. Medbery, production manager, spoke briefly on each program extending Christmas greetings from the management to the council members and guests. Rev.
