Children’s Parties Set For Dec. 14
The children of all Fieldcrest em-
Ployess are invited to Christmas par-
ties to be sponsored by the Carolina
Cooperative Council Saturday, Decem-
t>er 14 at Spray and Fieldale.
The party for the children of em
ployees in the North Carolina mills
"'ill be held at 10:30 a. m. in the More-
head high school gymnasium. The par
ty for the children of Towel Mill em
ployees will follow at 1:30 p. m. in the
fieldale high school auditorium.
The parties will feature music, group
singing, entertainment, and the arrival
of Santa Claus with treats for all of the
children. Management officials will be
present to bring greetings from the
Company.
At the North Carolina party, the
Harry D. Wood, pastor of First
Saptist Church, Leaksvillle, will make
a brief talk on “The Spirit of Christ
mas.” The Rev. Raleigh Mann, pastor
of the Fielddale Methodist Church, will
fnake a similar talk at Fieldale.
Entertainment will include selections
the Hammond organ by John Mick
ey of Winston-Salem and an outstand
ing trained dogs act to be presented by
Abner Harrington, of Sanford. There
''^ill be group singing of Cliristmas
carols at each program.
Tickets to the parties will be avail
able for the children of all employees.
Notices will be placed on the bulletin
t>oards in the mills this week informing
employees how to obtain tickets for
their children.
Invitations and member tickets will
be mailed to members of the Carolina
Cooperative Council and the Junior
Carohna Council. The tickets will be
used in drawings for valuable door
prizes for Council members.

Enjoy Annual Social
At Meadow Greens Club
A full program of entertainment has
been arranged for the annual social to
be held by the Junior Carolina Coun
cil at the new Meadow Greens Country
Club Friday evening, December 6,
starting at 7:00 o’clock.
Margaret Crane, of the Industrial
Relations Department, program chair
man, will be mistress of ceremonies.
She will present Gordon Pittendreigh
for several selections on the piano, fol
lowed by Betty Dyer, Industrial Rela
tions Department, soloist. Mamie Link,
of the Draper Cost Department, will
lead the group singing of Christmas
carols and will sing a solo.
Floyd Strader, of the Blanket Mill
office, will have charge of the Bingo
games. In addition there will be tables
of rook, bridge and Canasta. Other
program events will be a valuable at
tendance prize, refreshments, dancing.
Member and guest tickets have been
distributed to those members plan
ning to attend. Wives and husbands of
members are invited. Unmarried mem
bers may bring one adult guest.
Promotions Announced
In New Divisions
Fieldcrest Mills, Inc., which re
cently organized its domestics
and Karastan sales departments
as separate divisions of the com
pany, has announced four ap
pointments of vice presidents of
the newly-created sales divisions.
Promotions at Fieldcrest, Division of
Fieldcrest Mills, Inc., announced by
Frederic W. Hoit, president, are G. W.
Moore vice president in charge of mer
chandising; Arthur S. Thompson, vice-
president in charge of sales; and E.
Stanley Klein, Jr., vice president in
charge of specialty accounts.
The promotion of Hugh P. Feeley to
vice president of Karastan Rug Mills,
division of Fieldcrest Mills, Inc., was an
nounced by Walter B. Guinan, president.
Mr. Moore joined the Company in 1946
and has held positions as blanket de
partment manager and merchandising
director. Mr. Thompson became affiliat
ed with Fieldcrest in 1930. Since that
time he has served as manager of the
Towel department, as assistant domes-

Retiring Employees
Honored At Meeting
Fourteen employees who retired
effective December 1 under the Field
crest Pension Plan were honored
in ceremonies held in the Nantucket
conference room Friday morning, No
vember 29. The retirees’ first monthly
pension checks were presented during
the program.
C. J. Frank, director of industrial
relations, presided. In introductory re
marks he congratulated the retirees
upon having reached retirement age
and wished them happiness during re
tirement. He predicted that the re
tirees will find retirement to be an
enjoyable experience as they are able
to devote more of their time to church
work, civic affairs and to hobbies in
which they are interested.
