Fieldcrest Program To
Be Broadcast In Stereo
Want to really enjoy good music?
Then set up your AM and FM radios
to receive the Fieldcrest program in
stereophonic sound.
The program will be broadcast stere-
ophonically over WLOE in Leaksville.
The station will use special stereo re
cords, the high tones to be played on
FM (94.5') and the “lows” on AM (1490).
D. L. Craddock, owner-manager of
WLOE, lists these suggestions for the
most enjoyable reception:
Place the AM and FM sets six to eight
feet apart, the AM on the right and the
FM on the left. Tune the radios at equal
volume, then sit back and enjoy beauti
ful, life-like sound.
The Fieldcrest Program is heard over
WLOE each Sunday from 3 p.m. to 3:30
p.m. It will be broadcast in stereophonic
sound March 15, 22 and 29.

Safety Barbecue Is Award
For Outstanding Record
Established In 1958
Riding the crest of a 2 Vz-million man-
hour record—the present best safety re
cord at Fieldcrest Mills—employees of
the Towel Mill enjoyed a barbecue Sat
urday, February 28.
The barbecue was an award to the
Fieldale workers for having worked the
entire year of 1958 without a lost-time
accident.
The outing was held in two parts, one
at 11:30 a. m. and another at 4 p. m.,
to enable employees on all working
shifts to attend.
Brief programs in the Fieldale high
school auditorium preceded the barbe
cues served at the softball field.
President Harold W. Whitcomb dis
cussed general business conditions and
reviewed the progress at the Towel Mill
in recent years. D. A. Purcell, mill man
ager, reported on the recent job satis
faction survey at the Towel Mill.
D. E. Simons and C. P. Wilson, super
intendents, spoke briefly to welcome the
employees and to congratulate them on
their outstanding safety performance.
It was pointed out that the last lost
time injury at the Towel Mill occurred
November 8, 1957. To date the employ-
