Vacation Schedule Is
Announced For Mills
All mills will close for vacation at
the end of the second shift Friday,
June 26, and will resume operations at
7:00 a. m. Monday, July 6, except the
third shift which will begin operations
at 11:00 p. m. Sunday, July 5.
If there are any exceptions to this
schedule, the employees affected will
be notified by the mill management.
Vacation pay will be issued on the
regular pay days during the week be
ginning June 22. Pay checks for the
week ending June 28 will be distri
buted in the regular manner on Mon
day morning, July 6.
All offices will be closed during the
mills’ vacation period except the Per
sonnel Office which will remain open
on a limited basis.
Mill Attains Million Man-Hours;
Employees Get Barbecue Dinner
For Accident-Free Record In ’58
Employees of the Central Warehouse
have worked over a million man-hours
without a disabling injury. In recogni
tion of their outstanding performance,
they won three safety awards which
were presented at the mill last week.
For having attained a million-man-
hour record since the last lost-time
accident on September 27, 1956, the Cen
tral Warehouse received the National
Safety Council’s Award of Merit. The
mill was awarded a Certificate of Merit
by the North Carolina Industrial Com
mission on the basis of its 1958 record
and received a second-year ribbon from
the North Carolina Department of La
bor for having operated the entire year
of 1958 without a disabling injury.

‘Miss Junior High’
Brenda Collins was chosen “Miss Dra
per Junior High School” in a beauty
pageant sponsored by the Draper Lions
Club. She is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Nelson Collins. Her father is em
ployed at the Blanket Mill.
