Miss Smith, a native of Greenwood County, S. C., has never been off the payroll since she joined the company. She was a spinner for 38 years. Since June, 1958, she has worked as a roller picker. Mr. Sparks was born in Spartanburg County, S. C. He has been in the Sheeting Weave during all of his years with the Company. He has worked as a weaver and as assistant foreman, but most of his service has been as a loom- fixer, his present classification. 'Crest diamond-and-gold 40-year emblem, a gift and a letter of ^ l^endation from President Harold .'^hitcomb. Sparks will complete his 40 years 8 and is to receive awards at ■time.
