In recent organization changes at the Smithfield Automatic Blanket Plant, Allen B. Fonda was appointed Manager, Customer Service Department, and Ed ward W. Delahooke was appointed Man ager, Product Service. The new unit which Mr. Fonda heads consolidates the functions of handling of customers’ orders and inquiries, pro duction planning, scheduling, and ma terials control. In his new position, Mr. Delahooke will be responsible for all policies and procedures having to do w’ith product service as related to the Repair Depart ment, Service Stations, and customers. S. de gree in mechanical engineering at Mas sachusetts Institute of Technology and his master’s degree in business adminis tration from Stanford University in California. Following his graduation from M.I.T., he was associated with the General Electric Company in various parts of the country in engineering and quality control assignments. He served with an ordnance unit in the U. S. Army from May, 1955, until December, 1956. Mr. Delahooke is a native of Penn sylvania, and joined Fieldcrest as a de velopment engineer at the Automatic Blanket Mill in July, 1958. He was ap pointed quality control engineer in De cember, 1959, and continued in that ca pacity until his most recent promotion. He attended Virginia Military Insitute and the University of Maine before go ing to Iowa State College where he re ceived his B. S. degree in electrical engineering in 1949. Upon graduation he joined the Gen eral Electric Company in their engi neering training program and completed the creative engineering program. He served in various engineering capacities for General Electric at several locations. In 1952 he was assigned to that com pany’s automatic blanket plant at Ashe- boro in manufacturing planning and re mained there until August 1956. He then was associated with the Southern Tool Manufacturing Company at Winston- Salem in engineering, supervision, and sales capacities, until he joined Field crest Mills in July, 1958.
