Quality Awards Given Rug Weavers, Fixers Awards for Quality and all-around performance were made on five looms at the Karastan Rug Mill for the month of March. Looms 21, 39, 45, 46, and 53 received the awards based on loom efficiency, seconds, burling costs, housekeeping, and yield. Each of the factors considered represents a crucial area involving costs and quality. Attractive certificates bearing the names of the weavers and fixers were placed on each of the award-winning looms. The awards are made monthly as part of a new program giving recogni tion to weavers and fixers for outstand ing quality and all-around performance. A record of the performance on each loom is carried on a large board in the Weave Room. Fixers and weavers can tell how they stand at all times by re ferring to this board.
