She will major in mathe matics and plans to become a teacher. Mr. Rhodes plans to attend North Car olina State College and will major in electrical engineering. The scholarships, each worth a total of $2,000, will be continued for four years of college attendance conditioned upon the recipient’s maintenance of an acceptable record. Guinan, president of the Karastan sales division, and Frederic W. Hoit, president of the Fieldcrest sales division, are scheduled to address the Carolina Cooperative Council at its final meeting of the Council year Thursday evening. May 25, at 7:30 p. m. at the Consolidated Central Y.M.C.A. Mr. Guinan and Mr. Hoit are to show some of our newest products and to dis cuss the activities of the Company’s sales organizations. Employees Of Blanket, Sheeting Mills To Have Prominent Part; Quota Is 142 Pints The Bloodmobile will be stationed at the First Methodist Church in Draper from 11:00 a. m. until 5:00 p. m. Wed nesday, May 24, as the unit makes its third visit to the Tri-Cities since the local area began participation in the Piedmont Carolinas’ Blood Program. Although donors are expected from Leaksville, Spray, and the outlying areas as well as Draper, the unit will be sta tioned in Draper for the convenience of those who live or work in Draper. Solicitors are working throughout the community to recruit donors for the Bloodmobile visit. Assisting in the Dra per area are members of the Methodist Men’s organization at the Draper church. The quota has been set at a minimum of 142 pints. This is in line with the Tri- City area’s yearly quota of 850 pints, an amount considered adequate for the needs of local people at the Morehead Memorial Hospital. The community-wide program was undertaken at the request of the medi cal staff of the Morehead Memorial Hospital in order that there might be a ready supply of life-saving blood and its derivatives to enable the hospital to serve its patients better. Under the plan, the hospital is sup plied blood through the official Red Cross Program, and all patients from the Tri-City area receive their total blood needs at the local hospital, without (Continued on Page Two) Vacation Schedule The Company has announced the following schedule for the annual shut-down of the mills for sum mer vacation: All mills will close at the end of the second shift Friday, June 30 and will resume operations with the start of the third shift at 11 p. m. Sunday, July 9. Where there are exceptions to this schedule on certain operations and in certain departments, the in dividuals concerned will be noti fied by the mill management.
