O’Neal To Join Co. In Industrial Relations } t James B. G’Neal will join Fieldcrest ■August 15 as an area industrial relations representative and after a period of training will be assigned to the Blanket Sheeting Mills. He is to replace Kelvin Moore, who was promoted to Superintendent of the Karastan Spin ning Division at Greenville. Mr. O’Neal is a native of Durham was graduated from the University North Carolina, Chapel Hill, with an B. degree in 1951. He received his jriaster’s degree in personnel adminis tration at Chapel Hill in 1957. He served the Army from July, 1951, until Aug- 1953^ when he was released from Active duty as a second lieutenant. From July, 1959, until the present he “as been employed by the North Caro- ‘^a State Personnel Department in Ra- ®igh. He earlier was with the Bureau of Ublic Administration, Charlottesville, in government research and while ^'idying for his master’s degree was a ^aduate assistant at the Institute of *^overnment at Chapel Hill, p He is married to the former Miss Jean p/.'j'bb, of Perry, Ga. They have three ildren, ages three years, two, and j^^Sht months. Mr. O’Neal plans to move 's family here around September 1. SHIVELY August is a month of important serv ice anniversaries for three Fieldcrest- ers at three different mills. Robert Neal Shively, of the Bedspread Mill, completed 45 years of continuous service on Tuesday, August 1. James Clifford McDaniel, of the Blanket Mill, completed 40 years on August 10, and William Clyde Fulcher, of the Finishing Mill, is to complete 40 years on August 15. Mr. Shively and Mr. McDaniel were honored in informal ceremonies on their anniversary dates. Each was presented with the Fieldcrest diamond-and-gold service emblem, a gift, and a letter of commendation from President Harold W. Whitcomb. Mr. Fulcher is to receive awards this week. Mr. Shively, a native of Franklin County, Va., has continuous service since WILLIAM C. FULCHEB. August 1, 1916, when he was employed as a weaver learner at the Blanket Mill. He was a weaver at the Blanket Mill until 1929 and since that time has been a weaver at the Bedspread Mill. Mr. McDaniel was born in Roanoke County, Va., and has worked in the Wool Carding Department at the Blank et Mill continuously since August 10, 1921. He has operated various jobs in the department but has been a fixer for most of his 40 years. Mr. Fulcher came from Patrick Coun ty, Va., and has continuous service since August 15, 1921. He worked on various jobs in the Sample Department at the Finishing Mill and was promoted to as sistant foreman in 1944. He was in the Folding Department 1950-56 and since 1956 has been a second hand in the Blanket Sewing Department.
