H. Crowder, Jr., assistant foreman at the Bedspread Mill, and James Gallimore, head loomfixer, as instructors. Five weave room employees of the Bedspread Mill are enrolled for the course. Also attending is Gene Inman, management trainee at the Blanket Mill. Facilities of the new training room at the Blanket Mill are being used for the course. Classes meet three evenings each week. The men are attending on their own time. The course was arranged by the Bed spread Mill with assistance from the Fieldcrest Training Department. Instruction is given by means of dem onstrations for the entire class, follow ed by individual practice in the setting of loom motions. Stultz Children Evelyn Rose Benson, a blanket boxer at the Automatic Blanket Plant, Smith field, was a nuiner-up to “Miss Bright Leaf of 1961,” in a beauty contest spon sored by the merchants in connection with the opening of the Smithfield to bacco market. She represented Ingrams Township and was in third place for the “Miss Bright Leaf” title, won by Miss Brenda Faye Massengill. Miss Benson, who lives at Rt. 1, Four Oaks, was employed at the Automatic Blanket Plant in June of this year. She is engaged to be married to another Fieldcrester, Linwood Lassiter, quality technician in the Quality Control Labo ratory at the Automatic Blanket Plant in Smithfield. Bodnar Has Big Night In Nye-Wait Softball The Nye - Wait Company, Inc., soft ball team, which plays in the Auburn, N. Y., City League, won a victory from a very strong team known as the Utopia Club of Auburn at s -• ' the “Y” Field recent- ’ • ly. Chuck Mapley, of the Production De- Mike Bodnar partment, clouted a four - bagger. Mike Bodnar (shown in picture) retired 14 batters in succession at one point in the game and wound up with a three-hitter for the evening. Kathy, 2% years old, Sonah, nin® months old, and Michael, AVz years old. are children of Mr. and Mrs. Stultz. Father is employed in the Bed' spread Weaving Department.
