He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Carter, of Madison Street, Leaksville. Donnie Ray’s mother, Paul ine, is employed in the Cutting and Sew ing Department at the Bedspread Finish ing Mill. Fifteen employees of the Karastan Spinning Division at Greenville have received first aid certificates for hav ing completed the Red Cross 10-hour standard course in first aid. The certificates were presented by Dr. Sam White, a volunteer worker for the Harris Children Pitt County Chapter of the American Red Cross, who was the instructor for the course. The employees completing the course qualified for appointment as first aid attendants in their respective depart ments at the Greenville plant. At Fort Gordon Isley Child Shown here is Te resa Tanya Isley, two months old. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Is ley, Jr. Mother, Louise, is employed in the Inspecting De partment at the Bed- spread Mill. The step - grandmother, Joan Isley, works in the Wool Spinning Department at the Blanket Mill Sherry Smith Stephen Lynn, nine, and Scott Eugene, 11 months old, are children of Mr. and Mrs. Talmadge Harris. Mother, Vivian, works in Leaksville Standards and fa ther is former employee of Karastan Dyeing. The boys are grandsons of C. E. Ferguson of the Karastan Weave Room and Doris Ferguson of the Bed spread Weave Room and of Cornelia Harris, Finishing Mill. Sherry Layne Smith, 15 months old, is daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Smith. Father works in Napping Depart ment at Finishing Mill and mother, Phyllis, in Industrial Relations Depart- ment. Eakes will be interested to learn that he is serving with Company C of the 5th Battalion, 2nd Training Regiment, sta tioned at Fort Gordon, Georgia. Private Eakes was employed in the Wool Carding Department of the Kar astan Spinning Division prior to his call to service.
