Fifteen employees of the Karastan
Spinning Division at Greenville have
received first aid certificates for hav
ing completed the Red Cross 10-hour
standard course in first aid.
The certificates were presented by Dr.
Sam White, a volunteer worker for the
Harris Children
Pitt County Chapter of the American
Red Cross, who was the instructor for
the course.
The employees completing the course
qualified for appointment as first aid
attendants in their respective depart
ments at the Greenville plant.

Former co-workers of Curtis R. Eakes

serving with Company C of the 5th
Battalion, 2nd Training Regiment, sta
tioned at Fort Gordon, Georgia.
Private Eakes was employed in the
Wool Carding Department of the Kar
astan Spinning Division prior to his call
to service. His wife, the former Betty
Ross Schewe, is a skein inspector in the
Winding and Twisting Department at
Greenville.
