No Lost Time Accidents At Smithfield Since Plant Was Started As a reward for having worked the entire year of 1961 without lost time due to injury, the employees of the Au tomatic Blanket Plant at Smithfield were given a barbecue by Fieldcrest Mills, Inc. The employees of the Automatic Blanket Plant have never had a lost time accident since the mill was estab lished in June, 1960. The plant has one of the best safety records of any mill in the Fieldcrest group. The employees earned the barbecue under terms of a contest sponsored by the company in which a free barbecue dinner is served all employees in any mill which qualifies for a state safety award. In a message to employees posted on the mill bullein boards, T. R. Ray, sup erintendent of the mill, congratulated the employees and thanked them for their contribution to the outstanding safety record. a „8L«ErUTES Above, a large group of employees of the Automatic Blanket Plant enjoy bar becue served in the mill as a reward for their outstanding safety record dur ing 1961.
