Fieldcresteris Cooperate In Bllood Program
Employees of the Blanket and Sheeting mills
were prominent among the 109 persons who donated
blood when the Bloodmobile was stationed at First
Methodist Church in Draper May 15. However, the
amount of blood donated was short of the 142 pints
per visit needed to maintain the quota for the Tri-
City area, which is 850 pints a year.
B. F. Dunton, of the Purchasing Department,
local Bloodmobile chairman, said usage of blood by
local people increased considerably in April over
the average monthly usage last year. If the high
usage continues in May and June, well above 142
pints will be needed when the Bloodmobile visits
Leaksville July 30, Mr. Dunton said.
H. T. Bundy, assistant manager, Blanket and Sheeting
mills, was an early donor. He is shown as he was registered
by Mrs. Horace Penn, one of the volunteer workers.
Paul Carter, an employee of the Blanket Mill, has blood
pressure checked by Dr. Robert G. Ellis, of the Morehead Hos
pital staff, one of the three doctors who assisted.
Witcher Hundley, of the Blanket Mill Plant Service De
partment, has hemoglobin tested by one of the staff nurses from
the Charlotte Center who accompanied the Bloodmobile here.
Paul Ellington, Blanket Mill, has blood pressure checked
by Mrs. Jane Edwards, one of the registered nurses from More-
head Hospital who assisted during visit by the Bloodmobile.
