New Scholarship Recipients Visit Parents^ Mills The three newest recipients of Field- crest Scholarships recently made visits to the mills where their parents are em ployed to see the plants and to meet officials of the mills. Those receiving scholarships, given by Fieldcrest Mills, Inc., through the Field- crest Foundation, were Elizabeth Fran ces Martin, Richard Ray Watkins, and Mary Jane Lawless. Miss Martin is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry L. Martin. Her father is an inspector in the Finishing Department at the Karastan Mill. Richard Watkins is the son of Thomas and Daisy Watkins, both of the Bed spread Mill. Miss Lawless is the daughter of Wil liam Letcher and Annie Maude Lawless, both of whom are employed at the Towel Mill. Eight Fieldcrest Scholarships, each worth a total of $2,000 over four years of college attendance, have been given in the past three school years. On visit to Bedspread Mill with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Watkins, Richard Watkins, scholarship winner, was greeted by Frank E. Barron, mill manager, and W. Giles Hunnings, super intendent. Martin shows rugs to his daughter, Elizabeth Frances, who was granted a Fieldcrest Scholarship. At right are Mrs. Martin and Jones W. Norman, industrial relations representa tive for the Bedspread and Karastan Mills. In Towel Mill office, Mary Jane Law less, recipient of a Fieldcrest Scholar ship, received congratulations from D.
