M. Moore, Plant superintendent. Mr. Moore congratulated the employ- on their outstanding performance and presented awards to members of the group. He made a brief talk in Shop, Engineering Group Elects Officers In the recent election of officers of the Fieldcrest master mechanics and engineers organization, D. A. Wilkinson, of the Towel Mill, formerly vice presi- lient, was named president, succeeding A. Smith, Jr., of the Karastan Me chanical Development Department. J. T. Maclsaac, Jr., of the Mechanical ^development Department at Spray, was elected vice president; and J. L. West, ^gineering Department, was elected ^cretary, succeeding M. A. Bell, Jr., Purchasing Department. The purpose of the organization is to oring the master mechanics and the en- Sineers into a closer working relation- to provide for an exchange of ''leas, and the dicussion of common Problems. The 22-member group meets on Fri day afternoon every two months. Most of the meetings are held in the Confer ence' Room at the General Offices, al though occasional meetings are held in ^arious mill areas, followed by tours of ^e mills in the respective areas. Monday, February 4, 19 which he emphasized the necessity of top quality and high production in the successful operation of the mill. The production leaders were William Whaley, Carding Department; Margaret Brady and Hazel Lockamy, who work together as a team in the Spinning De partment; Joyce Wilson, Twisting De partment; and Mary Lou Brown and Rose Tripp, who tied for the highest 1962 production records in the Reeling Department. Jane G. Reynolds, registered nurse in the Fieldcrest Medical Department, has been elected chairman of the occu pational health section of the North Carolina State Nurses’ Association and in this capacity will serve on the associ ation’s board of directors. In addition to presiding at meetings of the occupational health section, its advisory forum and its executive com mittee, Mrs. Reynolds will be an ex officio member of all section committees and in other ways will furnish leader ship for this important group of nurses in North Carolina. In a letter to Dr. J. A. Sanford, Field crest Medical Director, Mary E. Cope land, president of the State Nurses’ As sociation said, in part: Position Of Leadership “We are pleased that Mrs. Reynolds has accepted this position of leadership demonstrating an interest and aware ness in professional responsibility which, I am sure, is reflected in her professional growth and performance. Since the ulti mate purpose of this organization is better nursing care for all citizens, we believe your organization and the peo ple they serve also will benefit from Mrs. Reynolds’ contribution to the pro gram of work of the professional nurses’ organization.” Mrs. Reynolds has been a member of our Medical Department since 1942 and earlier was on the staff of the Leaks- ville General Hospital.
