I¥ew Rng Lines Well Received At Market “Alexei” Rugs And “Trienneau” Broadloom Are Standouts In Introductions At Market “Alexei” rugs, in a new weaving tech nique and in designs inspired by the classic Grecian arts; “Trienneau” broad loom, a multicolor frieze also employing a new weaving technique; and “Rou leau”, another new broadloom with a Plushy wool pile with a gently-pat terned high cut effect, were outstanding among the new items introduced by Kar- astan at the International Home Fur nishings Market in Chicago in January. “Alexei” rugs are in a technique in spired by the earlier “Tiempo Colon- iale” and “Amarapura” rugs which re- niain in the line. “Alexei” rugs are available in 12 rich colorings and in eight sizes, 3 x 5 to 12 x 18. “Trienneau”, an all-new entry in Karastan’s family of twist broadlooms, is offered in 12 colorings. In “Rouleau”, eight of the 17 colorings are being introduced as “positive colors” because of a distinctive quality which enables them to support important fur nishings. The seven sizes range from 3 X 5 to 12 x 24, with a choice of 18 exacting shades. Also offered is the “Ashley Grove” collection of seven, cut pile, wool broad looms, four florals and three contemp orary patterns, designed by Karastan and produced by the celebrated John Crossley and Sons, Ltd., of England. Together, Karastan and Crossley have made available this collection in nine Versatile “Trienneau”, a multi-color frieze available in 12 colorings, lends it self to many periods of furnishings. and 12-foot widths. In addition, “Sul tana”, Crossley’s own individual group in superb worsted wool pile is now available through Karastan in four de signs in 27-inch width only. The always correct Karastan Oriental Design Collection has a new member, too. This magnificient worsted wool quality has added a French traditional pattern for the connoisseur of fine fur nishings, to be available in many sizes. Rogers, retired Fieldcrest employee, entered her name for several prizes being given at the North Carolina State Fair last fall, she never once thought she would be a "'inner. She was one of the 39 members of the Y.M.C.A. Golden Age Club to go by chartered bus to the State Fair and along with ^any other Golden Agers from all over North Carolina, she entered her name for a number of prizes to be given at a later date. Mrs. Rogers was pleasantly surprised recently when she re- '^eived a letter from General Sales and Service Co. announcing ^hat she had won a Riccar “Zig Zag” electric sewing machine, '"'ith many attachments. She and her husband, T. R. Rogers, an Employee of Leaksville Woolen Mills, made the trip to Raleigh and received the machine. The prize came at a particularly fortunate time, Mrs. Rogers ®3id, since she was preparing to trade in her old electric sew- machine on a new model. Prior to her retirement under the Fieldcrest Mills Pension ^lan three years ago, Mrs. Rogers had worked as a folder at the Finishing Mill continuously for over 32 years. Since retir- she has attended the Y.M.C.A. Golden Age Club meetings Regularly and has gone on all of the sightseeing trips sponsored the Golden Agers. These have included a mountain trip to Annie B. Rogers is proud of sewing machine won at State Fair.
