All prior attendance records were broken when 120 directors, committee chairmen and workers attended the pMTOgram and saw four honor plaques awarded and 36 named to the National YMCA Leaders’ Fellowship. W. B. Weaver, retired Fieldcrester, was presented a desk plaque in recogni tion of exceptional service to Consoli dated Central YMCA. Mr. Weaver was a charter member and one of the orig inal petitioners for the establishment of the YMCA. He has been actively serving the “Y” since it was organized in 1909. He served on the board of directors for 47 of the 53 years the Association has been or ganized. He was instrumental in forming the Golden Age Club 10 years ago and is president of this organization of re tired persons. Burton Is Honored Jesse M. Burton, of Central Ware house, as “Y’s Man of the Year”, was presented an award for having made the most outstanding contribution to the Y’s Men’s Club. The plaque was presented by J. G. DeHart, Jr., of the Data Processing Department, winner of the award for the previous year. C. Guy Buckle, of the Bleachery, was elected to the National YMCA Leaders’ Fellowship for his outstanding work in “Y” membership campaigns for several years. Robert L. Moore, Fielderest employ ment manager, was elected to the Lead ers’ Fellowship for his service on the board of directors, activity in member ship campaigns and leadership in YMCA-affiliated organizations. Wendell Newlin, chairman of the YMCA personnel committee, and Mr. Weaver, first local member of the Na tional YMCA Leaders’ Fellowship, had charge of the elections to the Leaders’ Fellowship. Next Bloodmobile Visit Is Wednesday, April 17 (Continued from Page One) ing response gave the Tri-Cities a fine start on its quota for 1963. However, Bloodmobile officials point out that the usage of blood for patients of the Tri-City area has been exceed ing the collections. Additional donors are needed on forthcoming visits by the Bloodmobile if a sufficient amount of blood is to be available for local needs. Friends and relatives of persons who have received blood are urged to donate blood or, at least, to secure donors who will donate blood in the name of the person who received it. The nationally-famous Sunshine Boys quartet will appear at the Draper Jun ior High School Thursday, April 11, at 8 p. m., in a program sponsored jointly by the Draper Y’s Men’s Club and the Draper Parent-Teacher Association. All proceeds will be used for purchas ing badly-needed equipment and sup plies for the physical education de partment at Draper Junior High School. The Sunshine Boys gospel-singing quartet is widely known throughout the country for its personal appearances. recordings, radio and television pro grams, and appearances in movies. With a large following in the local area, the Sunshine Boys quartet has ap peared in the Tri-Cities frequently and at one time was featured on the program at the Fielderest Mills 25-Year Club picnic. Tickets to the Draper performance will be on sale at $1.00 per person by members of the Y’s Men’s Club, Dra per P.-T.A. members, at the YMCA and at the schools. m W. B.
