Sharon Robbins Is ‘Miss Fieldale High^ Sharon Robbins, named “Miss Fieldale High School” in a beauty contest spon sored by the senior class, is the daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Robbins of Villa Heights, Martinsville, Va. and granddaughter of Thomas W. Robbins of the Carding Department at the Bed spread Mill, Leaksville. Sharon, 15, was in the ninth grade during the last school year and was president of her class and president of the school Spanish Club. Raymond Wright received his degree as Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Georgia early in June. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Wright of 716 Virginia Avenue, Spray. His father is a jacquard weaver at the Blanket Mill and his mother (Myrtle) is employed in the Setting Department at the Karastan Mill. Dr. Wright is married to the former Jo Ann Johnston of Draper and they have one child. After a brief vacation, they will live in Staunton, Va. Seven-Pound Bass Turtle Catcher Wallace Bryant holds a bass weighing seven pounds and two ounces which he caught in Lake Hunt at Reidsville. Wal lace is the husband of Evna Bryant, a blanket folder at the Finishing Mill. Young Generation Tanya Melia Bur- gart, one year old, is daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Burgart. Father is a draftsman in the Karastan Me chanical Develop ment. Grandfather, S. S. Burgart, is an assistant foreman in the Bedspread - Kar astan Plant Service Department and grandmother, Leona Spencer, is a clerk in the Blanket Mill Inspecting Depart ment. Karen Michelle Stovall, 15 months old, is daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John H. Stovall. Father is employed at the Finishing Mill. Grandparents, Will and Mabel Stovall, work in the Sheeting Mill Spinning De- partment, and grand father Ward Saul, works in the Karastan Weave Room. Turner Jarrell holds turtles, each weighing nearly eight pounds, which he caught in a lake near Reidsville. These make a total of eight turtles he has caught this year. He sells them to peo ple who consider the meat a delicacy and has sales for more turtles than he can catch. Mr. Jarrell is an employee of the Sheeting Carding Department. New Graduate Carol Jo Dillard, daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Jacob Dillard, 1464 Holland Street, Spray, graduated May 27 from St. Augustine’s College, Raleigh, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Education and a grade “A” North Caro lina teachers certificate.
