He served as assistant to the vice president-manufac- turing before his appointment as man ager of blanket and sheet operations. Other organization changes, connected with Mr. Jackson’s transfer to Colum bus, were announced as follows; Hugh T. Bundy, assistant manager of the Blanket and Sheeting Mills, was ap pointed manager of blanket operations with responsibility for the greige mill, finishing and shipping. Reporting to Mr. Bundy will be C. A. Davis, superintend ent of the Blanket Mill; and Frank T. Suttenfield, general superintendent of the Bleachery, Finishing Mill and Cen tral Warehouse. In addition, Norman F. Young, super intendent of the Bleachery and Sheet Finishing Mill, was appointed assistant to the manager of blanket operations and will retain his responsibility for commission finishing. John P. Powell, manager of the Bleachery and Finishing Mills, was ap pointed manager of sheet operations, in cluding greige, finishing and shipping operations. Reporting to him will be R. C. Going, superintendent of the Sheeting Mill; J. Scott Chowning, general fore man of the Sheet Finishing Mill; and Carson Slaughter, office manager for sheet warehousing and shipping opera tions. It was also an nounced that Richard H. Tuttle who, as di rector of technical services, has respon sibility for several staff deparments, will be given special as signments as assistant to the vice president- manufacturing in ad dition to his present responsibilities. R. H. Tuttle Mr. Bundy has been with Fieldcrest since 1937 and has served as assistant manager of the Finishing Mill, head of the Cost Department, assistant manager of the Sheeting Mill and, since 1954, as assistant manager of the Blanket and Sheeting Mills. Mr. Powell, who also joined the com pany in 1937 and at one time was head of the Cost Department, has served as assistant to the production manager, and as assistant manager of blanket and sheet operations, both greige and finish ing. He has been manager of the Bleachery and Finishing Mills since 1949. Joined Company In 1929 Mr. Tuttle joined the company as a dyehouse foreman in 1929 and has since served in a number of technical and managerial positions. He was superin tendent of the Karastan Rug Mill for several years prior to becoming director of industrial and public relations. He later was the manager of a lace curtain mill owned by Marshall Field & Com pany at Zion, Illinois. He became director of research and quality control in 1947 and later was given the additional responsibility of engineering and supply purchasing. Since 1956 he has been director of tech nical services, including the Research and Quality Control, Domestics Product Development and Mechanical Develop ment Departments. Mr. Young first joined Fieldcrest in 1953 as a chemical engineer in the Re search and Quality Control Department. He served as foreman of the Bleachery, as assistant superintend ent and most recently as superintendent of the Bleachery and Sheet Finishing Mill. N. F. Young
