Jackie Albert Mitchell, a rising junior
at Mars Hill College, has been presented
a $150 scholarship which he will utilize
during the 1964-65 school year.
The scholarship was given by the col
lege’s Business Club Alumni Association
which is composed of former members
of the honor club for outstanding stu
dents in the various areas of business
study. The club gives a scholarship each
year to some outstanding student at
Mars Hill.
Jackie is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph Mitchell. His father is employed
in the Sheeting Mill Carding Depart
ment at Draper.
Jackie is married to the former Bev
erly Cochran whose father, Virgil Coch
ran, is employed in the Blanket Mill and
whose mother, Helen Reynolds, works
in the Sheeting Mill Spooling Depart
ment.
Slaydon Children
Jeannie Caroline, 2 years and 10
months old, and Jerry Lee, one year and
11 months old, are children of Mr. and
Mrs. Robert L. Slaydon. Father is em
ployed in the Blanket Mill Weave Room.

Paul E. Schickler, Jr., joined the
Fieldcrest division of Fieldcrest Mills,
Inc., on May 15 as manager of specialty
sales. Midwest territory, according to an
announcement by G. William Moore,
division president.
Mr. Schickler formerly headed Mor-
gan-Jones’ Chicago sales office.
