Elmer R. ‘Miss Tri-City’ To Go To NC Pageant July 7 Dorothy Ellen Jones, “Miss Tri-City, 1964” will represent Leaksville-Spray- Draper in the Miss North Carolina beau ty pageant to be held in the Memorial Auditorium in Raleigh July 8-11. Miss Jones, a receptionist-secretary at the Karastan Office, Leaksville, won over six other contestants in the Miss Tri-City contest here May 1. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Jones, of Ruffin, but resides at Leaksville. The state pageant will be the largest in the history of Miss America elimina tions anywhere in the United States. Akers of the Weave Room had 20 years, and Paul M. Walker of the Spinning Department had 17 years. Another June 1 retiree at the Towel Mill was Mar vin E. Myers of the Spinning Depart ment, who is not shown. Hill Children Randy Lynn, 2Vz years old, and Ken neth Todd, six months old, are sons of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hill. Mother, Ethel, is employed at the Sheet Finish ing Mill in Spray. Jamie Harris Jamie Harris, shown in the accom panying picture, was two years old on June 7. His father, Everette Harris, is employed in the Print Shop at Cen tral Warehouse, and grandfather, Robert J. Harris, works in the Central W a r e- house Shipping De partment. Jamie’s mother (Bonnie) is a former employee of the Burling De partment at the Karastan Mill.
