50-Year Employees Honored At Luncheon

James Thomas Patterson of the Fin
ishing Mill and Betty H. Ratliff of the
Spray Cost Department were guests of
honor at a luncheon at Meadow Greens
Country Club July 31 in recognition of
their 50-year records of continuous
service.
President Harold W. Whitcomb pre
sented Mrs. Ratliff with the Fieldcrest
diamond-and-gold 50-year pin and a
letter of commendation, together with
other gifts and remembrances. Mr. Pat
terson already had received the service
awards on July 1, the date of his 50th
anniversary of company service.
C. J. Frank, director of industrial
relations, was toastmaster at the lunch
eon. Jack R. Baker, superintendent of
the Finishing Mill, gave the invocation.
In addition to those mentioned above,

vice president, manufacturing; R. R.
Roberts, vice president, finance; H. T.
Bundy, manager of blanket operations;
J. E. Williams, Jr., manager, budgets
and cost accounting; F. T. Suttenfield,

Registered Yet For
Sewer Bond Election?
Registration of voters for the second
Eden Metropolitan Sewerage District
bond election will continue through
Saturday, August 15.
In the election to be held Tuesday,
August 25, the voters will consider $3,-
045,000 in bonds for the construction of
sewage treatment plants for the Tri-
Cities.
In order to vote in the new election,
citizens of the incorporated towns of
Leaksville, Spray and Draper must
either have registered for the first bond
election March 31 or they must register
not later than August 15.
The registrars and the polling places
are as follows:
Draper—Reid Weadon, Town Hall
Leaksville—Ernest Hodges, Armory
Spray—Allan Hancock, Town Hall
