ARBIE S. OWEN LARRY S. PATTERSON New Supervisors At Bedspread, Towel Mills The appointment of Arbie S. Owen as assistant foreman in the Bedspread Mill Weave Room on the first shift has been announced. Mr. Owen was associated with Bur lington Industries for 14 years in several different plant locations. Immediately before coming here, he was with Bur lington’s Automobile Fabrics Plant in Wilson. He has worked as a weaver, loomfixer, head loomfixer, and weave room supervisor. For the past five years he has been engaged primarily in pre ventive maintenance work. A native of White Oak, in Bladen County, he is married and has three children. He expects to move his family to the Tri-Cities within the next few months. THE NEAL THOMAS FAMILY Larry S. Patterson, a supervisory trainee, has been promoted to assistant foreman in the Towel Mill Spinning De partment, third shift. He has been an acting supervisor for eight months. A native of Henry County, Va., Mr. Patterson attended Fieldale schools, Fer- rum Junior College, and High Point College. He worked on production jobs in the Towel Mill Bleachery and the Beam Dyeing Department in the sum mers while attending college. He was employed as a clerk in July, 1962, and worked in the Persormel Of fice and later in the Spinning Depart ment. He was an overhauler helper and a laboratory man in the Spinning De partment before entering the super visory training program in May, 1963. Bowlers Wanted The Karastan Spinning Division wants additional bowling teams to represent the plant in the Green ville City Bowling Leagues. Em ployees interested in joining the Fieldcrest teams are requested to contact Molly Haddock, first shift spinning; Bill Newell, general night foreman; or Evelyn Beasley in the office.
