O. ®‘ty, manager of Los Angeles Service Center, is at left. m t • M Awards Presented July was a month of important service anniversaries for three Fieldcrest employees in widely distant locations. Ethna MacMahon of the Los Angeles Service Center com pleted 45 years of continuous service July 5. Leonard L. Hill of the Muscogee Mill, Columbus, Ga., completed 40 years July 1; and Henry B. Roberts of the Bedspread Finishing, Spray, at tained a 40-year record July 15. Each of the veteran employees was honored on the anniver sary date and presented with the appropriate service emblem and a letter of commendation from President Whitcomb. Miss MacMahon was first employed by Marshall Field & Co., Chicago, July 5, 1921. She worked in various departments of the retail store and contract division until transferring to the Los Angeles Service Center, January 5, 1953. Miss MacMahon now has charge of inventory control. Mr. Hill has continuous service since July 1, 1926, when he was employed as a filling hauler in the Weave Room at the Muscogee Mill. He has worked in the Weave Room in various capacities since that time. He is now a senior overhauler in the Terry Weave Department. Mr. Roberts, a native of Leaksville, has continuous service since July 15, 1926, when he was employed as a sewing operator in the Cloth Finishing Department at the Bleachery. He was transferred to the Beck Dye Department at the Finishing Mill in 1957 as a laundry machine operator and has continued to work in that classifica tion until the present time. He moved to the Bedspread Finishing Mill when that mill was set up a separate unit in 1959. i “Say, I understand your son is in col lege now,” said one old friend to an other when they met on a street corner. “How is he making it?” “To be exact,” replied the friend, “he isn’t making it. I’m making it and he’s spending it.” If a person looks tired and carewom, don’t suggest a vacation—the odds are that he just had one. LEONARD L.
