Setting Dept. Hits Million Safe Man-Hours Employees Get Congratulations On Their Excellent Performance Employees of the Karastan Setting Department have completed an out standing record of a million man-hours without a disabling injury. As of Octo ber 31, they had accumulated 1,033,312 man-hours since the last lost-time injury occurred February 24, 1964. On the date the million man-hours were attained, members of the mill su pervision contacted each employee and personally thanked him or her for coop eration in the safety program. In a letter to employees, J. G. Cunningham, the mill’s general superintendent, congratu lated the employees and urged their continued efforts to prevent accidents in the future. During “safety breaks” on each shift on the day the record was set, free cof fee and doughnuts were served to all employees of the department. Crumley Vol. XXV Monday, Nov. 14, 1966 No. John Walker Self, a member of the 1966 graduating class at Morehead High School, is a cadet candidate for the Air Force Academy and is attending the Air Force Academy prep school at Denver, He last week was appointed a first alternate to the Academy by Rep. Ralph Scott. Cadet Self will complete his prep aratory work in May and expects to enter the Air Force Academy in June. An honor roll student at Morehead, he was president of the Math Club, manager of the basketball team, and participated in numerous other extra curricular activities. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W.
