Service of Three 125 Years ROBERT T. JOYCE 45 Years The three men pictured here have combined continuous service of 125 years. Robert T. Joyce has completed a 45-year record and Harry T. McKinney and William W. Stovall have completed 40 years of unbroken service. The veteran employees were honored on their recent anniversary dates and were presented with the appropriate Fieldcrest service emblems and letters of commendation from Harold W. Whit comb, chairman of the board, Fieldcrest Mills, Inc. Mr. Joyce, head of production control for blankets, is a native of Henry Coun ty, and was first employed in the Pack ing Department at the old American Warehouse November 1, 1922. He work ed on various jobs in the Packing Room and was subsequently transferred to the Blanket Stock Department as a clerk. He later was promoted to assistant fore man in the Blanket Stock Department and then to foreman of Blanket Stock and Blanket Packing. During 1936-37, he was assistant to the group production manager and la ter served as assistant superintendent in charge of warehousing and shipping for all mills. He became scheduler for the Blanket Mill in 1938 and has had the responsibility for blanket produc tion control since that time. Mr. McKinney was born at Pelham in Caswell County and was first employed at the Karastan Mill November 1, 1927. He worked as assistant foreman in the Washing Department until 1937, when he became night foreman. He was ap pointed foreman of the Washing De partment in 1943 and continues to serve in that capacity. He has never been off the payroll for any reason during his 40 years of service. Mr. Stovall, a native of Patrick Coun ty, Va., has continuous service in the Sheeting Mill Spinning Department since November 2, 1927. He worked in the spooling section and as a yarn man until 1953.
