Employees’ Children Get College Degrees Pamela Gaye Owen has received her B.S. degree in English and biology from Elon College. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Owen of Eden. Mother, Doris Jean, is employed in the Designing Department at the Karastan Kug Mill. Miss Owen’s aunt, Hilda Newnam, also works at Karastan in the Payroll and Cost Department; her uncle, Kemp Newnam, recently retired from the Sheet Finishing Mill. Miss Owen is temporarily teaching at Holmes Junior High School and plans to enter graduate school in January to complete work for her master’s degree. Kenneth W. Evans has graduated from East Carolina University with a B.S. degree in business administration. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Evans of Eden. Mr. Evans is a weaver in the Karastan Rug Mill Weave De partment; Mrs. Evans (Annie) is em ployed in the Finishing Department at the Karastan Rug Mill. Carl Larry Fasge has graduated from High Point College where he majored in political science and history. He was president of Delta Sigma Phi fraternity during his senior year. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Fagge. His mother, Lunary, works at the Karastan Service Center. Gardner Daughters Pictured above are the daughters of Mr. and Mrs. William F. Gardner of Eden.
