L. P. Mincey Named
To Scottsboro Position
Larry P. Mincey has been appointed
ed supervisor of mill accounting at the
Scottsboro Rug Mill in Scottsboro, Ala
bama.
Mr. Mincey joined Fieldcrest May 23,
1966, as a senior mill accountant at the
Columbus Towel Mill in Columbus, Ga.
He remained in that position until his
recent transfer to the Scottsboro Rug
Mill.
He is a 1964 graduate of Berry Col
lege in Rome, Ga., and prior to joining
Fieldcrest was with Chadburn, Inc. in
Winder, Ga.
Strader, Sheeting Mill,
Grows Big Watermelons
Wilbert Strader is pictured above
with two watermelons he grew, one of
which weighed 41 pounds and the other,
43 pounds.
Mr. Strader, of Reidsville, Rt. 7, is a
loom fixer in the Weave Room at the
Sheeting Mill and has been with Field
crest for 32 years.
Products Shown At Completes 40 Years
State Fair This Week
Fieldcresters who attend the State
Fair in Raleigh this week are invited
to see the Fashion Show and view the
exhibits of Fieldcrest and Karastan pro
ducts in the Industrial and Fine Arts
Building.
The fair opened Friday, October 17,
and will continue through Saturday,
October 25. Hundreds of thousands of
fair-goers are expended to see the fash
ion show and the Fieldcrest Mills, Inc.,
display.
June Mohler, of New York, Fieldcrest’s
manager of merchandise publicity and
sales training, has charge of the fashion
show. Models will be women from Ra
leigh. A number of persons from New
York and Eden will assist with the pres
entations.
The exhibits will feature Fieldcrest
and Karastan products in attractive dis
plays showing the various patterns and
colors of the products.
It will be the second year that Field
crest Mills has presented the fashion
show and exhibits at the State Fair.
Last year’s presentations were viewed
by many thousands of people and at
tracted much favorable attention.
The purpose of the fashion show and
display is to give North Carolinians a
greater knowledge of the products of
Fieldcrest Mills, one of the state’s lead
ing industries, with the Company’s head
quarters and most of its mills located
in this state.
