Elon Secretarial Students Visit Offices PFC Roger Shockley, A group of 32 students and two teach ers from Elon College in Elon College, N. C. recently visited the Fieldcrest Mills General Offices in Eden. The group included seven business education majors and one and two-year secretar ial course students. The girls, in groups of three, visited with Fieldcrest secretaries to learn about their jobs and the various duties of each one. Purpose of the visit was to give the students an opportunity to ob serve secretaries actually at work on the job. The program also included a tour of the General Offices and a meeting in the Conference Room. At the meeting, J. R. Stephenson, assistant manager of employee benefits, talked about em ployee benefits and what should be looked for before joining a company. Lou Stophel, secretary to Dr. L. H. Hance, gave a talk on the different type jobs at Fieldcrest and some of the things a good secretary should know and do. The visitors were also shown a film on Fieldcrest fashions by Betty Flin- chum, secretary to J. F. Scott, manager- Business Information Department. The visit concluded with lunch at the Meadow Greens Country Club and a tour of the Fieldcrest Store. Blanket Mill employee, is serving . the U. S. Army in Vietnam.
