Paul E. Jones is a foreman at the Blanket Mill with responsibility for the Wool Carding and Wool Picking De partments. He has been with Fieldcrest since 1942 and has been a supervisor for approximately 15 years, mainly in the Wool Carding Department. He is a native of Martinsville, Va., but has lived in the Draper section of Eden for most of his life. He worked on floor jobs in the Cotton Spinning De partment and in the Spooling Depart ment at the Blanket Mill before serv ing with the Navy in the Pacific during World War II. Mr. Jones became a card feeder in the Wool Carding Department in 1947 and during the next 10 years worked on virtually every job in the de partment. He was in the first pre- supervisory training class organized by the Fieldcrest Training Department and attended classes for over a year on his own time. As a grinder in the Wool Carding De partment he frequently worked as a temporary assistant foreman during 1957-58. He was a full-time assistant foreman in the Wool Carding Depart ment 1960-1966 and then was trans ferred to the Wool Picking Department as an assistant foreman. He next was named foreman at the Non-Woven Blanket Mill and served in that ca pacity until he was appointed foreman over the Wool Carding and Wool Pick ing Departments in March, 1969. He is married to the former Mildred Wilson, who is a receptionist-secretary in the office of Dr. M. G. Couturier. Mr. and Mrs. Jones have two daugh ters, Paula, (Mrs. William Carter of Eden), and Pat, a senior at Morehead High School. The Joneses live at 1301 West Front Avenue.
