w £ A R S A F £ T Y S H O £ $ 2,500 Pairs Bought In 1969 Lavonne Piske To Wed Donald Mally In July Wallace Warf, of Blanket Mill Plant Service, has safety shoes fitted by Floyd Strader, Blanket Mill cashier who also handles sales of safety shoes. Fieldcrest employees purchased over 2,500 pairs of safety shoes during 1969. In addition to periodic safely shoe clinics conducted at the various mills, safety shoes may be ordered through several mill supply rooms. Fieldcresters Quartet Has New Radio Time The Fieldcresters, a gospei-singing quartet composed of two sets of broth ers with Fieldcrest connections, has changed its broadcasts over WLOE at Eden from 4:45 p.m. on Sundays to 6:15 p.m. on Saturdays. Members of the quartet are Harold Squires, Draper Industrial Engineering Department, second tenor; Dan Squires, Sheeting Mill Spinning Department, bass; Frank Setliff, first tenor; and Bill Setliff, baritone. The Setliff brothers are sons of J. E. Setliff, a retired Blank et Mill supervisor. The Fieldcresters recently made their first professional recording. The album, called “Sing Me A Song” contains 12 of their most popular selections. The al bum is being sold ($3.00) at public appearances of the quartet. The quartet will participate in a gos pel-singing program at the Draper First United Methodist Church at 7 p.m. Sun day, March 22. Other groups to appear are the Chapel Four, of Eden and Mar tinsville, Va.; and the Stella Girls’ Quartette, of Spencer, Va. Seven In Wool Picking Set Attendance Records John Wray of the Wool Picking De partment at the Blanket Mill, has com pleted a four-year record of perfect attendance on the job. Two other Wool Picking employees, John Hampton and David Harris, have completed two- year records. Members of the department who worked every scheduled day in 1969 were Wadell Adams, Abraham Clark, Arbon Lane and Clem Wilson. William F. Crumley, superintendent of the Blanket Mill, said, “These men have established outstanding records of on-the-job attendance. We want to con gratulate them and thank them for their fine cooperation and dependability.” Serving In Vietnam Sgt. Tony L. Talbott is serving in Vietnam and would like to have letters from friends back home. There has also been a request that The Mill Whistle be sent to him. His address is: Sgt. Tony L.
