The crowd is expected to gather about i>oon for informal activities with the “fganized part of the program to start at 4 p.m. following a parade from the Meadow Greens Shopping Center to the stadium. The evening program will include a flag ceremony, a concert by the Marine Band and an elaborate fireworks dis play. These events will climax an hours- ^ W. D. Lashley, Jr., general chairman, and G. Moore, honorary chairman of ew YMCA build ng project, turn first shovels of dirt at groundbreaking. ^MCA Construction ^ Ready To Begin long program of games, stunts and con tests, kiddie rides, music and air show. A number of gate prizes are to be awarded, including a 23 inch Zenith color television, a 9 x 12 Karastan rug and a quilted bedspread. Tickets will be given out at the gate and drawings will be conducted at the close of the program. Three rides—car, train and twister—will be available for children. These will be in operation at the sta dium from noon until dark. The Leaksville-Spray Y’s Men’s Club, assisted by the Draper Y’s Men’s Club, will be in charge of games and activi ties. Events planned are bingo, horse shoes, checkers, sack races, greasy pig, greasy pole climb, three-legged race, pitch-and-putt, ping-pong throw and apple bobbing. It is expected that many families will bring picnic suppers to be eaten on the grounds or will purchase food at the booths to be in operation. The celebration is being sponsored by Eden Jaycees with assistance from oth er community organizations. J. Paul Kitchens, manager of the Karastan Rug Mill, is general chairman for the Jaycees with G. William Moore, president of Fieldcrest Mills, Inc., as honorary chair man of the community-wide event.
