Scholarship Recipient Wins College Honors Sherry Lynn Wood, a Fieldcrest Scholarship recipient, has graduated summa cum laude from West Virginia University where she maintained a average on a 4.0 point system. She received a B.S. degree in journ alism (advertising) with hours equiv alent to a major in psychology. She was a member of Kappa Tau Alph^j Psi Chi and Theta Sigma Phi national honorary societies and sororities. Miss Wood is the daughter of and Mrs. Dexter Wood, both of whom are employed in the Sewing Depart' ment at th e Fieldcrest Towel ’ Fieldale, Va. During first aid demonstration at Karastan Mill, left to right, Bobby Brown, Sylvia Vaughn, Irene Pendleton, Carl Ostler, and Lloyd Bolt, the instructor. 54 Attend First Aid Class At Karastan A four-hour first aid course develop ed through the Medical, Safety and Training Departments was taught at the Karastan Mill in two sessions for 54 employees of both the greige mill and the service center. Instructor for the course was Lloyd Bolt, training coordinator. Blanket Man- facturing, who has had standard and advanced courses in first aid as well as an instructor course. The two sessions were taught at in tervals to cover employees on all three shifts. It was designed to enable super visors and first aid attendants to ren der first aid in an accident resulting in injury until the injured person can be taken to the Medical Department or a hospital. Certificates were awarded to those completing the course.
