H JAMES RODGER FINNEY JANINE ATKINSON OGBURN Scholarship Recipients Among Graduates Pictured above are two recipients of Fieldcrest Scholarships who were mem bers of this year’s graduating classes. James Rodger Finney received his B. S. degree in agricultural education from Virginia Polytechnic Institute. He will teach vocational agriculture at Chatham High School, Chatham, Va. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Finney of the Cascade, Va. area. Mr. Finney, who now farms, was a weaver at the Blanket Mill for several years. James Rodger Finney worked at the Fieldcrest Store in Eden some of the summers while attending VPI. Janine Atkinson Ogbum received her bachelor of arts degree from the Uni versity of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Atkinson, of Eden. Her mother (Nadine) is a technician in the Physical Testing Laboratory. The graduate is married to R. Glenn Ogburn, Jr., and lives at Madison. Two New Supervisory Appointments Are Announced * Charles E. Frye has rejoined Field crest as an assistant foreman in the Blanket Mill Weave Room. He formerly was an assistant foreman in the Bed spread Weave Room but resigned in March, 1969. A native of Galax, Va., he was for 11 years a weave room supervisor at Galax Weaving Co. Immediately before join ing the Bedspread Mill in September, 1968, he supervised and trained person nel in converting from dobby to jac quard weaving at James Fabrics, Che- raw, S. C. William W. Martin was promoted from second hand to assistant foreman in the Blanket Warehouse Storage and Shipping Department effective July 1. Mr. Martin joined Fieldcrest in 1962 as a sheeting batcher in the Cloth Fin ishing Department of the Bleachery. Since that time he has worked as a kier operator, bedspread batcher and weft straightener.
