iM CLARENCE M. LAW C. M. Law Completes 40 Years Of Service Clarence M. Law, of the Blanket Mill, completed a 40-year record of continu ous service August 18 and has been presented with the Fieldcrest 40-year service pin and a letter of commenda tion from G. William Moore, president and chairman of Fieldcrest Mills, Inc. A native of Leatherwood, Va., Mr. Law first worked as a cleaner and as a roving hand in the Cotton Spinning Department. He was a ring spinning fixer from 1939 until he was promoted to assistant foreman in 1941. He was a fixer from 1942 until he became an assistant foreman again in January, 1945. He continued as an assistant fore man for the next 24 years and since November, 1969, has been a maintenance mechanic in the Wool Spinning Depart ment. Top Weavers, Fixers The Fieldale Towel Mill’s outstanding weavers and loom fixers are listed be low for the most recent periods of rec ord. The “Weavers of the Week” are those with the lowest percent of seconds with respect to the standards for the vari ous loom groups. The “Top Fixers” are determined through a combination of low seconds and high loom efficiency on their re spective sections. The 325-page book, “Training in Bus iness and Industry” was first published in the U. S. in 1961 by John Wiley and Sons, Incorporated, New York. It has since been translated into Spanish, Ger man, French and now Persian. Dr. McGehee, director of personnel research and development at Fieldcrest, wrote the book in collaboration with Dr. Paul W.
