■ Duke Group Makes Tour Of Bedspread Mill The Bedspread Mill was host to a group of Duke University professors’ wives on Monday, November 2. Mrs. Henry Mellmers was chairman of the tour group which consisted of 25 mem bers of the Campus Club. Guides for the tour were: Billie Jo Black, Laboratory supervisor; Louise Witt, Dyehouse clerk; Willard Fulton, Supervisor-Scheduling; Larry Rhodes, supervisor-Weave Room; and Cleo Smith, supervisory trainee. New lines to be introduced at the Jan uary home furnishings market were previewed by the Karastan Mill’s 25- Year Club members at their annual meeting Saturday, November 7, in the Burton Grove School auditorium. W. B. Guinan, president of the Kar astan Marketing Division, showed the new items and discussed developments in marketing. He described the growth of Karastan’s contract business and showed a number of filmed television commercials currently being used to promote Karastan rugs and carpets. In bringing greetings from the gen eral management of Fieldcrest Mills, Inc., R. A. Harris, senior vice president manufacturing, congratulated the group on their long service and expressed ap preciation for their “fine contribution to the success that Fieldcrest has made.” He told of his pleasure in meeting J the long-service employees tended best wishes for their “coP** (i good health and prosperity.” 'I J. Towel Mill Recognizes Top Weavers, Fixers The Fieldale Towel Mill’s leading weavers and loom fixers are listed be low for the most recent period of rec ord. The “Weavers of the Week” are those with the lowest percent of seconds with respect to the standards for the vari ous loom groups. The “Top Fixers” are determined through a combination of low seconds and high loom efficiency on their re spective sections.
