Speaker Cites Textile Career Opportunitif (Continued from Page One) Teresa Bailey, a member of the Chase High School Future Homemakers of America ciub was first runner-up in the election of State FHA secretary. The election was held at the District VIll FHA rally at Asheville High School. Miss Bailey competed with live other candidates from Western District schools for the state office. As first runner-up she will assist the winner in her duties on the state level for the district. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. ... all this and more is part of tomor row’s world of textiles. “The industry is continually searching for employees on all levels of educa tion,” Mr. Schoenbach said. “The high school and vocational graduate is just as welcome as is the college-educated major in textiles.” He said that the outlook for the col lege man or woman in the textile in dustry is most promising, not only for textile majors, but lor market analysts, designers, engineers, accountants, chem ists, manufacturing foremen, leadmen supervisors, computer programmers and many other job classifications. He told the group that the textile in dustry, nationally, is a big and vital one—employing about one million men and women, producing 15 billion yards ' of cloth each year and having sales last year of $21 billion.
