Quigley he new post of national contract haanager. announcement was made by Jr., vice president of Robert A. Harden, Jr., was appointed director of engineering effective March 1, replacing A. G. Singleton who has retired under the Pension Plan. Mr. Harden reports to Dr. L. H. Hance, vice president, engineering and research. J. G. Farrell, Jr., in addition to his assignment as manager of plant en gineering, was named assistant to the director of engineering, reporting to Mr. Harden. W. J. Robertson was appointed super visor of grounds maintenance and also reports to Mr. Harden. Mr. Harden had been assistant di rector of engineering since July 1, 1970, and previously was a textile engineer. He has been with Fieldcrest continu ously since 1953 except for about a year 1958-59 when he was with an archi tectural and engineering consulting firm in Atlanta, Ga. He is a native of Georgia and receiv ed his B. S. degree in textile engin eering from Georgia Tech. Prior to joining Fieldcrest he was employed for five years in the Technical Department of Martha Mills in Thomaston, Ga. His studies at Georgia Tech were in- Fielderest Listed In Top 7 N.C. He was a navigator on B-29 bombers on duty in the South Pacific and served for four years, being dis charged with the rank of captain. Scholarship Deadline Applications for Fieldcrest Scholar ships are coming in “fairly well”, ac cording to Dr. William McGehee, chair man of the Scholarship Committee. Dr. McGehee issued a reminder that the April 1 deadline for submitting ap plications for scholarships is nearing and that the applications need to be turned in as soon as possible. Both the Fieldcrest and Muscogee Foundation Scholarships are worth $4,000 each over a period of four years at the rate of $1,000 for each of the four years of college attendance. The forms for applying for Fieldcrest Scholarships can be obtained from the area personnel managers, the Personnel Offices, the Employment Office of Fieldcrest Mills, Inc., in the General Offices building in Eden, or by writing to Dr. William McGehee, director of personnel research and development, Fieldcrest Mills, Inc., Eden, N.
