HOPPER Golden Wedding Day For Retired Couple Mr. and Mrs. Fletcher William Hop per celebrated their 50th wedding an niversary at a reception on a recent Sunday afternoon at their home on North High Street, Eden. Hosts were the couple’s children and their husbands, Mr. and Mrs. J. Mar vin Pruitt and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Yeatts, and the couple’s grandchildren, Miss Adrianne Yeatts and Mrs. Sharon Yeatts Moore. Approximately 150 guests called be tween the hours of 3 and 5 p. m. Three guests who attended the wedding in 1921 were present at the reception, Mrs. Earl Cook, Mrs. Vada Perry and Mrs. ■ Naomi Cartrr, a 1969 Fieldcrest Scho larship winner, recently made the Dean’s List at Radford College in Vir ginia. Miss Carter, v/ho is a nursing student at Radford, is in her junior year. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Carter of Patrick Springs, Va. Mr. Car ter is a packer at the Fieldale Towel Mill. Tunstall Graduate Cheryl Kay Wilson is a 1971 graduate of Tunstall High School. She is the daughter of Kathleen Wilson of Cas cade, Va., and the late Pleas Wilson. Mr. Wilson worked at the Draper Sheet ing Mill prior to his death. Walter Bailey, of Danville. Mr. Hopper is one of Fieldcrest’s 50- year employees, having worked at the Blanket Mill over 51 years before his retirement in 1967. Mrs. Hopper also was a long-time employee of the Blanket Mill before taking early retire ment in 1968.
